Yr 9, 10 & 11 English

Hi everyone,

This is a link that I discovered from Melbourne High School for writing an essay response.

It’s terrific ūüôā

A couple of the referencing points are not as we would do them but, overall, I couldn’t have written it better!

Dear all,

Just a reminder that your homework is to go over each line of¬†God’s Grandeur¬†and highlight the internal rhyme scheme.

You are also to analyse the way the structure as a Petrarchan sonnet works to create create meaning.

One way to do this could be that you write the headings: octave, sestet and the couplet and then jot down some ideas underneath them about what the poet is saying in each.

Hi everyone,

In case you didn’t complete this in class today, please finish it off for homework, due tomorrow:

  • Research two different types of sonnets:¬† the Shakespearean and the Petrarchan.
  • Complete a Venn diagram of the similarities and differences (if this doesn‚Äôt work any form that conveys the same info will do)

See you then!

Mrs Still
